DELAWARE - Paul E. Foster, 91, of Delaware, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Delaware County to Thomas Joy and Marie (Wade) Foster.
Paul graduated from Willis High School and Bliss College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the China, Burma and India Theaters during WWII.
Paul was a retired flight test engineer for North American Aviation.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Known for his generosity, Paul had a love of vintage airplanes, memorabilia from WWII, coin collecting, sweets, watching football especially OSU Buckeyes, socializing at local stores, flower gardening and landscaping, hunting and fishing, and his pets, Teddy, Boo and Bear.
He is survived by, his wife of 64 years, Darlene; two daughters, Claudia (Avery) Smart of Blacklick and Lisa (Steven) Leech of Leonardsburg; a son, Jeffrey (Mary Ellen) of Powell; nine grandchildren, Aaron and Elizabeth Smart, Bill Steen, Jennifer and Matthew Foster, Brian and Christine Foster, Jaime and Benjamin Leech; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas and two sisters, June Ufferman and Yvonne Taylor all of Delaware.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory in 2005 and a grandson, David in 2014.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home where the funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jennell Rue officiating. Burial will follow in Marlborough Cemetery where the Delaware County Veterans Association will conduct military honors.
