MARION - James "Jim" Richard Maggard, 69, of Marion passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Grady Memorial Hospital.

He was born on July 16, 1944, in Delaware, Ohio to the late Joseph and Naomi (Conant) Maggard.

After high school Jim joined the United States Army and then became part of the Army National Guard. He then married his childhood sweetheart Barbara (Kiernan). Jim retired from PPG. He was a lifetime member of the Delaware Amvets Post # 104. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and watching his hummingbirds, but most of all he enjoyed his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 47 years; daughters Tressa (Stacey) Hines of Cardington and Melissa Sayers of Delaware; grandchildren, Ryan, Chazity, Anthony, Spencer, TJ, Richard, Danielle, Nicole, Hailey and Brandon; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Fred (Sharon) Maggard of Westfield and David (Vicki) Maggard of Ashley; a sister Mary Irene Brokaw of Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two children, Pamela Stevens and James C. Maggard; and a sister Emily Jean Fisher.

A Memorial Service with a Time of Reflections will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware, OH.

In lieu of flowers the memorial contributions may be made to the family.
