DELAWARE - Thomas Samuel Knight Jr., 71, of Delaware, passed away Wednesday evening May 14, 2014 at the Delaware Court Health Care Center.

He was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Rock Camp, W.Va., to the late Thomas Samuel and Mary Laura (Hubbard) Knight Sr.

Jr. served his country in the US Army and was a farmer and truck driver by trade. He enjoyed watching western movies and the Country Music Channel. A John Deere enthusiast, he was often found in his garage tinkering with his tractor collection. A true family man, Jr. enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Mary L. Clark of Delaware; sons, Samuel L. Knight of Marion; Michael A. (Rochelle) Knight of Richland County; daughter, Leona Knight of Grove City; brothers, Larry Knight of Arizona; Edward (Peggy) Clark of Indian Lake; sisters, Ann Roush of Columbus; Rachael (Edward) Spudowski of Warren, Mich.; Carla (Dan) Nicolosi of Westerville; grandchildren, Connie (Jason) West; Michael Knight; Kevin Knight; great-grandchildren, Amber, Corbin, Zach and Dillon as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Romona "Cookie" Gregory Knight; infant daughter, Poppie Sue Knight and sister, Elsie McKenzie.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2–6 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61 in Sunbury where the funeral service will be Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park with military honors rendered by the Delaware County Veterans Association.
