DELAWARE - Leslie S. "Les" Cahill, 78, of Delaware died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, in the Arbors of Delaware after an extended illness surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Warwood, W.Va., to Lawrence and Ruth Cahill. He was raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. He is reunited with his wife Joyce to whom he was married over 50 years. He was the owner of U.S. Siding and enjoyed bowling and raising a large variety of animals. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War.
He is survived by his four children, Karan (Joel) Kidd, Michael (Becky) Cahill, Colleen (Bear) Wallace all of Delaware and Penny (Kevin) Deel of Yulee, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Joel (Rachel), Chad (Tarra) and Tyler Kidd, Christopher and Cassie Wallace, Brittany and Kristen Deel; three great-grandchildren, Tucker, Jack and Lily Kidd; a sister, Shirley Ayres; sisters and brothers in law, Shirley (Larry) Brothers, Patricia (Elton) Stromback, Marjie (Ronnie) Poupore, Roger (Irlene) Manor, Arlene (Rodney) Sterling, Linda (Don) Parrott, Bob (Penny) Manor, Cathy Cahill, Mary Manor and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, parents, siblings, Margaret Brassell, Ruth Cahill, Betty Pagone, Lawrence Jr., Jean Michaels, Lois "Honey" Racioppo, Cecil "Sonny," Joan Rotunda, Bryce, Brenda Swartz and Caren Cahill and in-laws Joseph and Viola Manor and brothers in law, Russell and Daniel Manor.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery where the veterans will conduct military honors.
