DELAWARE - Ellis L. Myers, 70, of Delaware, passed away Saturday morning, May 24, 2014, at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1943, in Ironton, Ohio, and was a graduate of South Webster High School. He worked in the maintenance and janitorial department at Delaware Area Career Center South Campus where he maintained perfect attendance for a number of years and was very dedicated to his work. He had also worked on the assembly line at Sunray Stove for 30+ years.
Ellis loved cars of any kind, he had rebuilt many cars including a 454 SS Chevy Pickup and two Corvettes. Ellis was very social and enjoyed conversations with anyone who would listen and was a jokester. Ellis could fix anything, he was a jack of all trades and an ace of many doing electrical, plumbing, framing, etc. Ellis loved food of any kind especially Chinese or a good buffet.
He is survived by his sons: Craig (Tina) Myers of Delaware, Jeff (Stacia) Myers of Delaware; grandchildren: Gabriel, Kirsten, Hailey, Crimsen. He was preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Jean (Perkins) Myers on Oct. 2, 2005; they were married Nov. 11, 1966, in Delaware. He was also preceded in death by those who raised him; Grandparents: Floyd P. and Gertrude (Carnes) Bostick; Aunt and Uncle: Rose and Clarence Mullen.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William Street, Delaware where services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwight Cimino officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends after the interment at the Snyder-Rodman Community Room, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside, Delaware.
