Kennith (Kenny) A. Simpson, 65, was delivered unto his Lord and Savior on May 29, 2014. He died peacefully at home of natural causes.
Kennith was born July 30, 1948 in Logan, West Virginia. He was the youngest son of Addison and Ellen Simpson.
Kennith was a 1966 graduate of Olentangy High School. He enlisted in the United States Army right after graduation where he completed 2 tours in Vietnam and 2 tours in Germany. He was honorably discharged after 10 years of service at the rank of E5 Medical Records Specialist. Kennith retired from the Delaware City Police Department as a Community Service Officer.
A devout Christian, Kennith volunteered many hours to the Asbury Methodist Church, Andrews House, and actively participated with the church.
Kennith is survived by daughter, Rebecca Ellen Simpson and grandson, Jacob Orion of South Carolina, sisters, Deanna Caldwell and Sue (Richard) Gilliland of Ohio, brothers, Danny Simpson of Washington and Billy (Carol) Simpson of Mississippi, 10 nieces, 5 nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Kennith was preceded in death by his father, Addison Simpson, mother, Ellen Simpson and Patricia Simpson (divorced).
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 1-2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 55 West Lincoln Ave., where a Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Phillip Wilden officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery where the Delaware County Veterans Association will conduct military honors.
Arrangements are in care of Robinson Funeral Home.
