DELAWARE - Galena Milum, 87, of Delaware passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at home.
She was born on March 7, 1927, in Adams County to the late Tracy and Gusta (Hayslip) Shaffer. A resident of Delaware since 1956, she worked as a housekeeper before retiring. An avid bowler in her day, she was fun-loving and possessed a rambunctious spirit.
A wonderful cook, her home baked biscuits and rolls, as well as the smell of her meatloaf and roast with potatoes will long be remembered. She also enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Galena collected angels and animated holiday decorations. Forever determined, she was most proud of her girls and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved children Rosemary (Virgil) Lewis of Blue Creek, twins Georgia (Gary) Ewing and Joann Brodnax all of Delaware, Sally (Tony) Harris of Westerville, 9 grandchildren including those special care providers Sharon Coleman and Sarah Yost, 14 great-grandchildren, one and two expected great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by devoted husband of 46 years William E. Milum in 2001, daughter Beverly Milum, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be observed privately by her family with inurnment in Blue Creek, Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center in Delaware.
