Lifelong resident Tom Shaw, 71, went to be with the Lord Monday morning (Feb. 11, 2013).
He was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Delaware, to the late George L and Goldie Mae (Davis) Shaw. Tom was affectionately known by family and friends as "Tommy" or "Willy." He graduated from Willis High School in 1961. After high school, he was a crane operator for R.W. Wander Construction Company. Tom was an avid OSU fan. Tom enjoyed betting a cup of coffee on any Ohio State game, football or basketball. Tom did not know a stranger, and could often be found having coffee at Tim Horton's or UDF.
Tom was preceded in death by three brothers, George "Bud" Shaw, and Jim "Nubby" Shaw, both of Delaware, and Richard "Dick" Shaw of Ashland; two sisters, Ruth Ann Krouse and Betty Hinkle; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Krouse and Gerald Hinkle, all of Delaware.
Left to cherish his memory are brother, Harry Shaw; wife, Sandy; sisters-in-law, Ginny (Jim) Shaw, Jackie (George) Moffett, both of Delaware, and Donna (Dick) Shaw of Ashland; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Robinson Funeral Home. A graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Oak Grove Cemetery with Tommy Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Council for Older Adults. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
