1920 – 2012
Irene Keller passed away November 29, 2012. She was born May 12, 1920, in Manifold, PA, to Hungarian immigrants. Raised in Calumet City, IL, she has been a resident of San Diego since 1952.
Irene is survived by two sons, Mike (Debby) of Williamsburg, VA, and Bruce (Debbie) of Rancho Bernardo, CA; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Robert, passed away in December 2001.
They came to San Diego with the Navy. She was a homemaker and, up until a few years ago, lived very independently in Serra Mesa. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she taught all of her grandchildren Christmas songs. She was an excellent cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She was loved very much.
