Anne Mary Weiss, a longtime resident of Rancho Bernardo, passed away on September 2, 2012, in Tucson, Arizona. Anne was 87 years old. She lived in Rancho Bernardo for 33 years on Bernardo Oaks Dr. with her husband, Sidney, and son, William.
She came to RB in May of 1967 when the town was little more than the Inn, West Coast Golf Course and some scattered homes. During her 33 years as a resident of Rancho Bernardo, Anne experienced the growth of the community and of North San Diego County. She was an avid Bridge player and attained the status of "Life Master" while living in RB. She was actively involved in her local community and in the Poway Unified School District during the important decade of the 1970's that saw much growth and change in our local school system in Poway and RB.
Anne left many friends and acquaintances when she moved from Rancho Bernardo to Arizona, but always kept the memories of RB and those she knew and cared for in her heart; as she frequently fondly talked about her friends and times in Rancho Bernardo in her later years.
Anne is survived by her son, William Weiss of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
A memorial service for Anne will be held October 5, 2012, at 11am at the El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., San Diego. All are welcome.
