Miguel Ibarra Mancilla went to be with the Lord Friday, August 31, 2012, at his home in Poway, surrounded by his wife, children, family and friends. Heaven has gained an Angel that lived amongst us.
Miguel is survived by his wife, Rosario Barragan Mancilla; ten children; twenty four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a multitude of brothers and sisters in Christ who considered him a spiritual father and innumerable friends.
Miguel and his family came to Poway in 1964 where he lived and worked as a Rancher and Farmer at 16035 Sycamore Canyon Road. That location was known to Poway residents as the "Mancilla Ranch." Miguel managed and maintained hundreds of acres of orange citrus groves, which also included vegetable, fruit and flower gardens. His harvest was the only farmers market in the area at the time which served Poway, Rancho Bernardo and surrounding areas. In addition, Miguel worked as a landscaper in the Poway area and was known for his level of excellence and integrity.
Miguel was baptized on January 1, 1962, by Pastor Simon Valverde which began his new journey and life as a man of God. Miguel's mission and purpose was to spread the message of the Gospel, he was a true disciple of the perfect Love of Jesus Christ. John 3:16 was one of his favorite scriptures, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
Miguel was faithful to his church where he served as an elder and deacon and was loved and honored by his entire church family (Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus in Poway). Miguel's testimony will be his legacy to his children and everyone that he knew and touched.
Miguel was and will always be remembered as a man of faith, family, love, integrity and honor with a heart of gold. His legacy will live forever in our hearts. We will forever miss you and celebrate your life – MY DAD.
