Jerry Ringer passed away on July 12, 2013, after declining health. He was born March 1, 1935, in Los Angeles and graduated from Belmont High School in 1954. Jerry honorably served in the U. S. Army from 1954 to 1956 as a paratrooper. |
After his service, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Cal State Northridge
Jerry moved his family to Rancho Bernardo in 1968.
He was head of Cubic Corporation's P.R. Department and was the executive assistant to the president, Walter Zable.
Jerry was involved in various clubs: San Diego Press Club, serving as president with outstanding service from 1995 to 1996; President of the San Diego Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame and was honored at the 32nd Annual Awards Dinner (Dec. 1989) at the Waldorf Astoria in New York; served on the RB Swim & Tennis Club Planning Committee and Board of Directors; USC-San Diego Trojan Club and on the Board of Directors, president and secretary from 2000 to 2003 – "FIGHT ON!". He was also a member of the Escondido Chapter of Elks.
Jerry was the beloved husband of Katrina. He is also survived by two daughters, Julie Webster of Lakeside and Kellie Burns of La Jolla; and two grandchildren, Lisa and Trisha Webster.
He was a man of many interests and will be missed by many.
A memorial service with military honors will be held July 31, 2013, at 11:30am at Miramar National Cemetery. All are welcome.
