Louis Henry Stoltenberg Obituary
Louis Stoltenberg, 75, of Rancho Bernardo, California, passed away December 13, 2013, in Rancho Bernardo, California. He was born July 16, 1938, in Waco, Texas, to Norval and Mollie Stoltenberg. His family then resided in multiple places such as Auburn, Greenville, Ocala, Oak Ridge and West Lafayette, eventually making it to Seattle, Washington, where he graduated from Lincoln High School. He was actively involved in sports and excelled in basketball and tennis.
During and after high school he worked on many short term fishery and surveying projects such as the Alaskan Pipeline and the American River project. He then joined the army where he served at White Sands Missile Range as a chemical warfare specialist from 1959 to1962. Louis, having an extremely high proficiency at math, chemistry and physics like his father, he then studied Aeronautical and Civil Engineering at the University of Washington. There he was a member Delta Chi. He met a special lady whom he knew was the one, Patricia Shawanometa, in Hood River, Oregon. They married and had two children. He then continued his interest in Civil Engineering and started his career with Stone and Webster in 1977. From there he relocated his family to Houston, Texas, in 1982. After the death of Patricia in 1982, he continued with Stone and Webster until he moved on to General Dynamics in San Diego, California, in 1986, Specializing in Government Contracting and Procurement, which he later received his master's degree in. He retired from BAE Systems in 2003.
Louis loved boating, deep sea fishing in Baja Mexico and was an avid stamp and coin collector. In his later years he enjoyed watching movies and spending time playing cards with friends or visiting the local casinos.
Louis was a dynamic, charming, caring man who lived a very full life, complete with thorough exploration and had great interest in all aspects. Being a risk taker in his youth, he was a very curious man who would try anything once. He would revel in pursuing answers, mysteries and uncovering truths.
Louis was a protector, always keeping a watchful eye on those he loved. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by all.
