He is survived by his wife, Nancy Watson Melson; children, Carol Melson Eason (James) of Gilmer, Texas, Deb Hamilton (Sherry) of Lewes, Holly Melson Truitt of Lewes, Kevin Watson Melson (Laurie) of Stockton, Md., and Kip Scott Melson (Dawn) of Pocomoke City; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clayton Melson (Linda), Page Melson, Doug Melson (Sharon), and Al Melson; sister, Beth Melson King (James); and brother-in-law, Richard Watson (Carol).

Scott was preceded in death by a brother, Phil Melson; and a sister, Mary Lou Melson Fisher.

A viewing will be held Monday evening from 7-9 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Pocomoke, where a second viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Robert Blevins, and the Revs. Rowland Scott and James Eason. Interment will follow in First Baptist Cemetery in Pocomoke City.
