George Alva Urian Bishopville-George Alva Urian, 79, of Bishopville, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2015 at the Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. Born in Washington DC, he was the son of the late George Urian and Beatrice Eck VanAmburgh. George retired in 1988 as a Staff Member for the US Congress, and served on the House Appropriations Committee. He was an avid fan of the Washington Nationals and Washington Redskins, enjoyed gardening and was renowned for his perfect red tomatoes. He is survived by 3 children, Carl George Urian and wife, Julie of Salisbury Richard Paul Urian and wife, Dawn of Ellicott City and Julie Marie Urian and husband, David of Great Falls, VA; and 7 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annette Augustine Urian in 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial Memorial will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with a visitation immediately prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury for the immediate family. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
