Addie Mae Louise Marshall

Salisbury—Addie Mae Louise Marshall, 80, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Preston West, Sr. and Elsie Gale West.

She received her education in the New York City Public Schools and graduated from the former Salisbury High School. She later received her BA degree in Psychology from West Virginia State University.

Addie was employed in various counseling positions, most recently at Salisbury State University as the African American Student Advisor.

She was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Delmar and was an active member of the Union Gospel Group and the United Methodist Women as long as her health would allow.

Addie was married for 58 years to her loving husband, Edward Marshall, who preceded her in death. From their union, five children were born.

Loving memories will be cherished by: five children, Michael (Joya) Marshall of Laurel, Barry (Sheila) Marshall of Salisbury, Aaron Marshall of Woodbridge, VA, Gail Marshall of Morningside, and Darrell (Debora) Marshall of Elgin, SC; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Preston (Kim) West, Jr. of Baltimore, Howard West, Darnell West, and Theodore West, all of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Brenda West of St. Petersburg, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Dolly Ann West.

Mrs. Marshall will lie in repose on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at Union United Methodist Church located on 1203 Pine Street in Delmar. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Rev. James Young will officiate. Interment will be in Golden Acres Cemetery in Bishopville. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N.
