Calvin Elwood Young

SALISBURY-Calvin Elwood Young, 88, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Parksley, VA he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Erma Young.

Mr. Young was a WWII Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater (41st Infantry Division). He received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his war efforts and was Sr. Vice Commander at Purple Heart Chapter #570. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Senior Living Past Master for the Eastern Shore. Calvin owned and operated Thomas R. Young Music Store and after his retirement he worked for several car dealerships in Salisbury.

He is survived by his daughter Dianne Driscoll; sons, William Richard Young and Thomas Ronald Young (Deceased); daughters-in-law, Linda Young and Hollis Haje; grandchildren, Dean Young, Michelle Young, and Bret Young; and a sister Lewelyn Pappas.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 112 High St., Salisbury, Maryland 21801. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
