Clayton Marion Brittingham
Salisbury-Clayton Marion Brittingham, 87, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury.
Born October 27, 1925 in Stockton, Maryland, he was the youngest of seven
children of the late Norman Brittingham and the late Matty Shaw Brittingham.
Mr. Brittingham served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
and retired from Dupont at the age of 59 at which time he worked in the family business until well into his 70's. He was also a deacon at Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Salisbury.
Mr. Brittingham is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Mumford Brittingham; one daughter, Betty L. Howard and her husband, Carey of Chincoteague, VA; a son, Michael J. Brittingham and his wife, Jeanne of Parsonsburg, MD; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Brittingham of Greenbackville, VA; five granddaughters , three grandsons, five great-granddaughters, and seven great-grandsons. His life revolved around his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Larry "Butch" Brittingham; three brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Kenneth Sheller, at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, MD. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the Portersville United Methodist Cemetery in Stockton, MD.
