Diane E. Hinman

Crisfield—Diane E. Hinman, 70, of Crisfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on February 27, 2013.

Born April 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Estelle and Dewey Evans.

She was a home health care provider and an excellent cook. One of her favorite pastimes was cooking dinners for her large family. She was well known for her Smith Island Cakes and was known to many as "The Cake Lady".

She is survived by four children, Michelle Pruitt (Royce) of Crisfield, Preston Hinman (Faye) of Kingston, Sam Hinman (Jacqui) of Crisfield and Donelle Hall (Rudy) of Crisfield; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hinman; a son, Timothy McDorman, Jr.; a brother, Bob Evans; two sisters, Sue Ward and Bettie Payne; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
