Douglas C. Baker
BERLIN—Douglas Charles Baker, age 92, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Chesapeake Manor in Willards, MD. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Clayton Baker and Elizabeth Rogers Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Olivia Dunn Baker in 2006. He is survived by his daughter Jerri Ann Gray and her husband Gary of Berlin, and grandsons, Clifton Robert Gray and his wife Brandy Carter Gray of White Marsh, MD and Douglas Steven Gray and his wife Sara Helms Gray of Wallingford, PA. There is one great-grandson, Aaron Douglas Gray. Also surviving is a sister Nadine Baker Hudson of Ft. Meyers FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Norwood Baker.
Mr. Baker was a graduate of Buckingham High School. He was a World War II Army
Veteran, member of the Boggs-Disharoon American Legion Post #123 in Berlin, lifetime member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company and member and Greeter at Stevenson United Methodist Church in Berlin. He had worked for 60 years as an automotive parts salesman with Cropper Brittingham in Berlin.
The family wishes to thank his many friends at Gull Creek, Chesapeake Manor, and Coastal Hospice for their wonderful care and friendship.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Stevenson United Methodist Church. Rev. Ron Schatz will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to: Stevenson United Methodist Church, 123 W.
