WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Surrounded by her loving family, Jean Forrester died on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

She was born on Jan 1, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late Alphonse and Leona Ball.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Forrester, with whom she raised four children in Fredonia, N.Y.: Carol Forrester of Rochester, Mich., Susan (George) Wheeler of Dunkirk, N.Y., Robert (Monica) Forrester of Berlin, and Beth (Matthew) Bryant of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Stephen Saletta, Elizabeth (Joseph) Bonczynski, Megan (Nick) Buzinski, Kathryn (Patrick) McCarthy, Jessica Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Madeleine Forrester, Caroline Forrester, Robert Forrester, Jack Bryant, Ben Bryant, Sam Bryant; one great-grandchild, Margaret McCarthy; and brothers, David (Patricia) Ball of Tonawanda, N.Y. and James (Rosemary) Ball of Boston, N.Y.

Jean was extremely proud of her growing family, enjoying special times in their company. She retired as a bookkeeper from Marine Midland Bank. Jean was an active, dedicated volunteer in her communities and enjoyed her time in Florida by serving through various charitable works. She served as President of the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; she also enjoyed her memberships with the Van Buren Point Association, where her summers were spent in New York, and on the Martinique Board of Directors, where she spent her winters in Florida.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Dunkirk, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. presided by Fr. Dan Walsh, followed by burial at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
