Linden "Dick" Carey

Laurel —Linden "Dick" Carey, age 86, of Laurel, Delaware passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Dick was a WWII veteran serving honorably in the European theater as part of the United States Navy. He was a lifelong and avid fan of all sports translating his love of baseball into more then 25 years of service to the Laurel Little League where he began by coaching his sons and continuing with several generations of little leaguers.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen in 1983. In addition to his parents Linden and Hazel he is preceded in death by his sister Annabelle and his brothers Alvin and Ralph. He is survived by sons Doug and Jay and wife Barbara, his grandchildren Kevin and Brenda, and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home Laurel, DE on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11:00 am, were a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. The Rev. Ernest L. Bailey will officiate.
