Lucille J. Brittingham
LAUREL — Lucille J. Brittingham, 84, of Laurel, Del., passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at the Seaford Center. Lucille was born in East New Market, a daughter of the late Carl and Alvina Jackson.
She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, and an avid animal lover. She especially loved her cats and watching martins and deer. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions and spending time in her garden.
Mrs. Brittingham is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald L. Brittingham of Laurel; and her sisters, Laura J. Thompson and Dorothea Dukes, both of East New Market. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents her siblings, Edward and Leonard Jackson, preceded her in death, along with two brothers-in-law, Edward Thompson and Thomas Dukes.
A funeral service will be held at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel on Tuesday at 2 p.m., where a viewing will also be held from 1-2 p.m. The Rev. Karen Handy will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
