Robert "Bob" Dryden
Chincoteague Island-Robert Henry "Bob" Dryden, 73, of Chincoteague Island passed away Friday, April 11, 2014, at his residence. Robert was born in Crisfield on Oct. 20, 1940, the son of the late Veronica (Hupke) and William Henry Dryden Sr.
He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island. He retired as a supervisor for NOAA. He served in the U.S. Navy
for four years and then worked at NASA
Wallops Island Flight Facility.
He is survived by a daughter, Colleen Dryden Kean and her husband, Colin, of Atlantic; a granddaughter, Allie Kean of Atlantic; two sisters, Mariellen Byrd and her husband, Jerry, of Salisbury and Juliann Parsons of Delmar; one aunt, Helen Layfield of Princess Anne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Tommy Dryden.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday, April 15, from 7-9 p.m. at Salyer Funeral Home, Chincoteague Island. A graveside service will be held at Sunnyridge Memorial Park, Crisfield, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, with the Rev. Maurice Enright officiating.
