Crisfield—Ronnie L. Swift, 53, of Crisfield, died Friday, September 28, 2012 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born in Crisfield on March 5, 1959, he was the devoted son of Donald Lee Swift of Crisfield and the late Mary Virginia Hinman Swift who died November 11, 2006.

He was a graduate of Crisfield High School and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He obtained his accounting degree from Salisbury University, and worked as an accountant for Somerset County for several years.

Very active in his community, Ronnie was a member of Christ Fellowship Bible Church, member and volunteer with the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce, member of the Crisfield Lions Club where he was instrumental in the Glenn Ward Softball Tournament and was scorekeeper for many years, member of the National Rifle Association, and supported the Somerset County Humane Society. He was also an avid Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens fan, and enjoyed chatting with all his friends on FaceBook.

He is survived by his father, Donald Lee Swift of Crisfield; an uncle, Donnie Hinman of Florida; two aunts, Frances Johnson and Lois Matthews of Crisfield; two special friends, Penny Burke and Phyllis Saltz of Crisfield; numerous cousins; many friends; and his best friend and pride and joy, his pet dog "Itsy Bitsy".

Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by two aunts, Audrey Ward and Mabel Dryden; and six uncles, Bobby, Billy, Harold, Sammy and Dickie Hinman, and George Swift.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Steve Willing will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
