Ruth Cordelia Tyre

Frankford, DE—Ruth Cordelia Tyre, 92 and the last survivor of 14 children, of here, departed this life on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Atlantic Shore Rehabilitation and Health Center in Millsboro, DE. Born in Selbyville, DE, she was the daughter of the late James Laws and Hannah Louise Showell Laws. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell K. Tyre.

Mrs. Tyre attended Antioch A.M.E. Church in Frankford, DE and Curtis United Methodist Church in Bishopville, MD.

Prior to retiring, she was employed as a domestic engineer.

Loving memories will be cherished by: one son, Charles J. Laws of Millsboro, DE; two grandchildren, Desiree (Terence) Moore and Dara Laws, both of Seaford, DE; three great-grandchildren, Jamil Moore, Jair Moore and Zoe Laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mrs. Tyre will lie in repose on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at Antioch A.M.E. Church located on 194 Clayton Avenue in Frankford, DE 19945. The funeral service will begin at 10 AM. Rev. James H. Foster will be the officiant and Rev. Gary L. Meekins will be the eulogist. Interment will be in Antioch A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Frankford, DE.
