SALISBURY-Sara Layfield, 82, of Salisbury died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. Born in Greenbackville, she was the daughter of the late Harold Wilbur and Susie Maude McCleary.
Mrs. Layfield was a member of Salisbury Moose, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW
Auxiliary. She worked for Delmarva Power and later owned and operated Layfield Exxon in Salisbury.
She is survived by a sister, Etta Mae Jacob; niece, Carolyn W. Messick and husband, Sam, and nephews, Pete Layfield and Barry J. West, all of Salisbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Carroll Layfield.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
