Sarah Jane Sheppard

Salisbury—Sarah Jane Sheppard, 68, of Salisbury passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, after a long illness. Born March 16, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Martin Van Wilson and Edna Baine Wilson.

Sarah received her formal education in Worcester and Somerset County. She worked for many years for Tom and Beth Hershey and the Wicomico County Housing Authority where she retired.

Sarah was a longtime member of the United Faith Church of Deliverance in Salisbury.

Sarah leaves to mourn: her husband of 54 years James Sheppard, Jr; two daughters, Sherry (Christopher) Bailey and Juanita (William) Warren; a stepson, Terrance (Tameka) Purnell; two sisters, Hilda James; Emma Jane Crippen; two brothers, George (Catherine) Baine; Eugene Wilson; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Fields and one son; Ivory Sheppard.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at United Faith Church of Deliverance, on Jersey Rd in Salisbury. A viewing will be held Friday, Feb 22, from 6 - 8p.m., at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd in Salisbury and Saturday one hour prior to the service. The Bishop George Copeland will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Green Acres Memorial Park, West Road, Salisbury.
