Thomas "Tom" Dean
Salisbury—Thomas "Tom" Dean, 84, of Salisbury died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his home. Born in Cambridge he was the son of the late Brice Dean and Mary Windsor Dean.
Navy Veteran Tom was a member of the Salisbury American Legion and VFW
. He was an avid golfer, who traveled to various golf courses with friends and was a member of the Elks. He was past president of the Crisfield Rotary from 1971-1972, member of the Crisfield Chamber of Commerce from 1978-1982, was an active participant of the Crab Derby, and was a member of the Cambridge Drum and Bugle Corp. He worked at Delmarva Power for over 40 years retiring as district manager. A wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, his family meant the world to him and always came first.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Dean; son, Mark Dean and Julie; daughter, Amy Cropper and Kevin; four grandchildren, Trevor Dean and Erin, Caitlin Dean, Britney Cropper, and Kailey Cropper; two sister-in-laws, Sandra Dean and Rita Cover; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Winfield and Robert Dean; and two sisters, Hannah Tobin and Maryanne Cannon.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2PM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tom Hurley will officiate.
