William Wesley "Wes" Hastings
Salisbury—William Wesley "Wes" Hastings, 71, of Salisbury, formerly of Delmar, died Saturday, January 8, 2013 at his home in Salisbury.
He was born February 9, 1941 in Delmar, a son of the late Smiley Wesley Hastings, Sr. and Charlotta Donoway Hastings.
Wes proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. In his early days he worked in Texas for General Dynamics, an airplane manufacturing company. After returning to Delmar he worked many years in commercial construction for various companies. He was a long time member of American Legion Post 64 in Salisbury and VFW
Post 194 in Salisbury. He was good working with his hands and enjoyed working in his yard and doing home repairs. He also loved looking for deals at flea markets.
He is survived by a son, Michael L. Hastings of Salisbury; 2 daughters, Debbie Church and her husband, Glen of Dayton, Nevada and Teresa Hastings of Chincoteague, VA; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Church, Matthew Alex Church, Mary Bradley and Caleb Bradley; a sister, Karen Potter of Salisbury; and 2 brothers, Ronnie Hastings of Salisbury and Smiley Wesley Hastings, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Fruitland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion on Route 50 in Salisbury, Maryland.
