Barrett, Winfred "Wink"

Chincoteague Island—Winfred "Wink" Barrett, 86 of Chincoteague Island, VA, passed away Thursday, January 10th, at his residence.

Wink was born on Chincoteague Island, VA, on October 1, 1926, the son of the Madge (Sharpley) Barrett and Elva Barrett.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church and Anglers Sunday School Class.

He worked as a carpenter, waterman, and carver. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years,Winnie Rose (Gall) Barrett of Chincoteague Island, VA; two children, Deborah B. Hoffken of Chincoteague Island, VA and Pam Birch and her husband David of Chincoteague Island, VA; five grandchildren, Keith Hagler and his wife Jenny of Chincoteague Island, VA, Paula Henson and her husband Phillip of Raleigh, NC, Christopher Birch and his fiance' Sierra McGee of Chincoteague Island, VA, Jonathan Beasley of New Church, VA, Ashton Watson and her husband Matthew of Nashville, TN; one great grandchild Micheal Beasley of New Church, VA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, eight siblings, and a son, Glynn Beasley.

Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague Island, VA, at 3 PM on Sunday, January 13th, with Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.

Interment will be held at Mechanics Cemetery Chincoteague Island, VA.
