Albert "Toby" Milford Newton

Wilmington, DE—Albert "Toby" Milford Newton, 71, of here, departed this life on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Genesis Severna Park Center in Severna Park. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Alfred Jacobs and Martha Newton Fassett.

Mr. Newton was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Berlin where he served on the Male Chorus. He was also a member of the American Legion Duncan Showell Post #231 and Veterans Association.

He served in the United States Army. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Town of Ocean City as a Maintenance Supervisor of the Ocean City Convention Center.

Loving memories will be cherished by: three sons, Albert Newton of Wilmington, DE, Anthony Newton of New York City and Tarnus Newton of Tacoma, WA; four daughters, Linda Newton of California, Martha Berryman of Wilmington, DE, Wednesday Newton of Tacoma, WA, and Albertina Newton of Laurel, MD; four children that he raised, Leroy Leonard of Cumberland, Rose Ellis of Clinton, SC, Leona Parks of Columbia, SC, and Stroy Parks of Berlin; one brother, Alfred Newton, Jr. of Berlin; one sister, Clara Mae Giddins of Millsboro, DE; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Newton will lie in repose on Saturday from 12 to 1 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church located on 405 Flower Street in Berlin. The funeral service will begin at 1 PM. Rev. Audrey Hallett will officiate. Interment will be on Monday at 1 PM in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery located on 26669 Patriot's Way in Millsboro, DE.
