BERLIN — Alice A. Warfield, 90, longtime resident of the Berlin Nursing Home and Rehab., entered God's Kingdom on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. Born on April 21, 1922, in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Seebo) Swigert.
Alice will be remembered as an excellent homemaker and cook, and for her love for crocheting. She was employed for a time at the Bendix Corp. in the 1940s and later worked for O.T. Smith Banking Stationary Co. in Baltimore, a work experience she particularly enjoyed. Like so many of her generation, she and her family experienced the ramifications of the Great Depression and World War II.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her only daughter, Alice W. Kilgour, and her husband, William Jourdan of Salisbury; two grandsons, Jeffrey Scott Kilgour and his wife, Betsy, of Mount Airy, Md., and John David Kilgour of Pittsville; two great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Jeane Kilgour and Alexander Garrett Kilgour; a special niece, Mildred Clark; and her former husband, John O. Warfield.
A private graveside service will be held at Lorraine Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
