SALISBURY — Anthony Thomas Scarborough, 47, of Salisbury died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. Born in Ocean City, he was the son of Margaret Abbott Adkins and stepfather, Norman E. Adkins of Salisbury and the late Robert L. Scarborough.
Tony was a devoted husband and father. He was very proud of his son, who was his number one priority. He was a 1984 graduate of Parkside High School. Early in his life, he began working in the drywall business with his stepfather, Norman Adkins. A few years after high school, he moved away from Salisbury only to return several years later. He returned to the construction industry and in 2001 started his own company, Extreme Drywall Inc. He had picked up his pizza-making skills in high school and in 2005 he decided to follow his passion and along with his wife, opened Rt. 12 Pizza. Tony worked extremely hard to build that dream. You could always count on his smiling face and courteous service. In his spare time, which was rare, he enjoyed watching his son, "T," swim competitively. He also enjoyed NASCAR and the occasional football game. He loved classic cars, particularly Camaros, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. But most of all, he cherished the time away from the restaurant to relax and enjoy his wife and son. He especially loved the times spent at the beach.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, D. Nicole Green; son, Anthony "T" Scarborough II of Salisbury; sister, Angie Scarborough King and her husband, Terrell, of Spring Hill, Fla.; brother, Robert Scarborough III of Salisbury; half sister, LaVon Adkins of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 at Holloway Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Bunting will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the T Scarborough Education Fund, c/o PNC Bank, Attn: Teresa Smith, 110 N. Division St., Salisbury, Md. 21801.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home PA at 501 Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. Please visit www.hollowayfh.com to express condolences to the family.
