POCOMOKE CITY — Avis Beebe Williams passed away at her residence in Pocomoke City on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born on June 23, 1933, in Chincoteague, she was the daughter of the late Milton Beebe and Pansy L. Berry Beebe. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert H. Watson, in 1973, and by her second husband, Billy F. Williams, in 1991.
Mrs. Williams was a very talented artist and was a successful businesswoman. Cooking and gardening were among her favorite activities. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club in Pocomoke City. She will be remembered for her vivacious personality and loving nature.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Michael R. Watson and his wife, Dolores of Chincoteague, and by her daughter, Beebe L. Triplett and her husband, Allen, of Salisbury. Additional survivors include her special friends Beverly Fine of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Gayle Lawrence of Princess Anne, her loving caregiver. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Union Baptist Church in Chincoteague, with the Rev. Kerry Hinton officiating. Interment will be in Downing's Cemetery, Oak Hall, Virginia.
Memorials contributions may be made to Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company Building Fund or to Coastal Hospice Inc.
