Delmar—Barry J. Boltz, Sr., 69, of Delmar, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 24, 1943 in Allentown, PA, a son of the late Jack Boltz, Sr. and Lucy Schuler Boltz.
Barry proudly served his country for 6 years in the US Navy and 13 years in the Delaware National Guard. He worked 24 years in various capacities for Dresser Wayne Industries in Salisbury. For the past 10 years he worked as a mixer driver for Thoroughgood Concrete. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar and a member of the American Legion Post 19 in Laurel. Barry cherished time spent with his family and friends and loved riding his motorcycle every chance he could.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Cathy (Greene) Boltz; a son, Barry J. Boltz, Jr. and his wife, Melane' of Delmar; a daughter, Trina Seymore and her husband, Craig of Delmar; 5 grandchildren, Sean Boltz, Crystal Boltz, Justin Seymore, Alex Seymore and Kirsten Kervin; 2 great grandchildren, Maddison Stevenson and Mason Jones; a brother, Jack Boltz, Jr. and his wife, Helen of Salisbury; and 3 sisters, Judy Greene and her husband, Ralph of White Haven, Jean Morgan and her husband, Donnie of Seaford and Sally Abbott and her husband, Robert of Salisbury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar. The Reverend Kenneth F. Athey, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Church Yard Cemetery in Laurel.
