Willards —Brenda Hester Handy Hall (94) the daughter of the late John Handy and Hester Anne Barkley Handy was born in Whitehaven, Maryland on January 27, 1918. She peacefully departed this life at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury on November 5, 2012.
Brenda received her education in Wicomico County, Maryland. As a young adult, she worked at the Commander Hotel in Ocean City and at Coldwater in Seafood in Nanticoke, Maryland.
She married Robert "Buster" Hall of Norfolk, Virginia and lived in Whitehaven, Maryland for over 50 years. They moved to Salisbury, Maryland in the early 1980's. She attended John Wesley United Methodist Church in Whitehaven and as a young adult and song on the choir.
Brenda was a resident of Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, Maryland since 2009 where she received thoughtful and compassionate care. She also enjoyed attending the MAC, Inc.
She leaves to mourn a son, John (Goldie) Handy of Salisbury; a daughter, Lucille Hall of Willards; seven grandchildren, Jackie (Michael) Butler, Salisbury, Monica (Douglas) Collins, Killen, Texas, John Handy Jr. Salisbury, Cornell Bryant, Salisbury, Dionne (Lorenzo) Carter, Salisbury, Danna Miles, Baltimore, Maryland, Dawn Miles, Salisbury; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her devoted husband Robert Hall, two brothers, James Handy and Willis Handy.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1pm at Bennie Smith Funeral Home Salisbury,MD, with a viewing two hour prior to the service.
