Wilmington, DE—Beulah Virginia Townsend, 59, of here and formerly of Snow Hill, departed this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Compassionate Care at Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Born in Snow Hill, she was the daughter of Dorothy Townsend of Snow Hill and the late George Townsend.

Ms. Townsend was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Snow Hill.

She served in the United States Army and was employed by various department stores.

In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory: four brothers, Kevin (Lavion) Bratten, Sr. of Pocomoke City, Maurice (Sonzenea) Townsend of Baltimore, Theodore (Markita) Townsend of Pocomoke City, and Gary Townsend of Snow Hill; one sister, Ochie (Randolph) Milbourne of Pocomoke City; one great-aunt, Marie Foreman of Wilmington, DE; one uncle, John Henry Townsend of Snow Hill; one special nephew, Kevin Bratten, Jr. of Pocomoke City; her caregiver, Patricia Harmon of Wilmington, DE; and several nieces, other nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Ms. Townsend will lie in repose on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church located on Collins Street in Snow Hill. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. Bernadette Beckett will officiate. Interment will be on Monday at 11 AM in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on 2465 Chesapeake City Road in Bear, DE 19701.
