Charlene Ann Hearn

Delmar—Charlene Ann Hearn, 81, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at LifeCare at Lofland Park in Seaford.

She was born March 12, 1931 in Delmar, a daughter of the late J. Raymond and Iva Smith.

Mrs. Hearn retired from Delmar Elementary School in 1998. She worked as a physical education teacher and media aide for 34 years. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar and the Delmar V.F.W. Post 8276 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Jay and Joanne Hearn of Laurel; two grandsons, Scott M. Hearn of Bridgewater, VA and Jason T. Hearn of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Elizabeth Sparrow of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua Burton Hearn; a brother, Oliver Kendall (OK) Smith; and a sister, Doris A. Twilley.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
