Charles Foskey Haddock
LAUREL — Charles Foskey Haddock, 94, of Laurel, Del., passed away at his home Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Charles was born in Onancock, the son of the late Smiley B.and Jennie F. Haddock. Charles worked for the Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. after completing business school. In December 1939 he applied for a job with the DuPont Co. in
Wilmington. Shortly afterwards he transferred to the Seaford Plant, where he
worked for 38 years as an accounting supervisor.
He proudly served his country in the Navy Submarine Service. He was a member of
Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 19, Nanticoke Sportsman's Club, Delaware State Sportsmen's Association. Charles was an avid golfer and hunter. He was a past president of the Delmarva Peninsula Golf Association and the Laurel Good Samaritans Organization.
Charles is survived by his wife of 73 years Addie Haddock, his son, Robert, and his wife, Diane, granddaughter Stacey and her husband, Joel Schiller, all of Wilmington; one nephew; several nieces; and a sister, Margaret Davis of Salisbury.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church at 200 West Market St. in Laurel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Joseph Burris will officiate.
