HORNTOWN — Debra Ann Wood, 54, of Horntown, and formerly of Woodstock, Va., passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Wakeman's Grove Church of the Brethren in Edinburg, Va. The Rev. Keith Simmons will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Miss Wood was born Aug. 17, 1957, in Holyoke, Mass., daughter of Edward Leon and Fleta Hollar Wood of Woodstock. She was a 1975 graduate of Central High School in Woodstock and graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., with a bachelor's degree in social science and history. She was a sales associate at Lowe's in Pocomoke City. She was a member of Wakeman's Grove Church of the Brethren.
Surviving, along with her parents, are two sisters, Donna Wood Hopkins and her husband, Donald J., of Middletown and Diane Wood Burner and her husband, Marty, of Maurertown; brother, Derrick "Chip" Wood and his wife, Shannon, of Inwood, W.Va.; special aunt, Bonnie Barrick; nieces and nephews, Kyle S. Hopkins, Anna M. Hopkins, Ashley N. Wood, Collin J. Mason and Molly C. Hopkins; great-nephew, Rylee Baker; and first cousins, Larry Barrick and Sheila Wood.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wakeman's Grove Church.
