Selbyville—E. Clifton Cannon, 92, of Selbyville died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Ocean View and was the son of the late Everett N. and Marion (Derrickson) Cannon.
Cliff was in the automobile business for over 30 years. He opened Clifton Cannon Ford in Berlin in 1950 and at the time he was the youngest Ford dealer in the United States. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and Nur Temple Shrine. He was also an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his wife, Allie Marie "Almarie" Cannon of Selbyville; a sister, Elma C. McCabe and her husband, Ronald, of Selbyville; his close friends, Robert and Shirley Rhoads and William and Terry Collins, all of Selbyville; and several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Buster II.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 25, at 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, where friends may call an hour before the service. Pastors Michael Fillis and Ronald Kelly will be officiating. Burial will be in St. George's Cemetery in Clarksville.
