HEBRON — Edna Lee "E" Carnegie, 86, of Martin Luther Drive in Hebron passed Saturday, July 14, 2012, at St. Thomas More Nursing & Rehab Center in Hyattsville, Md.
Born in Hebron, she was a daughter of the late Otis Lee and Annie (Cook) Dashiell. Her late husband, Samuel Josiah Carnegie, preceded her in May 1974.
She was formerly employed as a CNA with the former Harrison House Nursing & Rehab Center, now Chancellor Care Center in Delmar, retiring after several years. She was also a private duty nurse for area families.
She was a member of Mount Enoch Holy Church in Salisbury.
Her survivors include eight children, Samuel (Thelma) Carnegie of Hyattsville, Sandra Whittaker of Oxon Hill, Reginald (Enna) Carnegie of Seat Pleasant, Wallace Carnegie of Salisbury, June (George Martin) Carnegie of Sunnyvale, Calif., Cheryl (Kenneth) Johnson and Vinette Carnegie, both of Laurel, Md., and Marty (Barbara) Carnegie of Tucson, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Earl, John and Roy Dashiell, and Roxie Green, Pearl Moore, Mary Elizabeth Dutton, Barbara Smith, Marjorie Carter and Maybelline Baltimore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Two children, Carolyn and Thomas Carnegie; and three siblings, Doris Price, Henry and James Dashiell, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Mount Enoch Holy Church, 28055 Rockawalkin Ridge Road, Salisbury, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in Green Acres Memorial Park, West Road, Salisbury, Md.
Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel of Salisbury.
