Eileen Conboy McCarthy

1924 - 2010

Eileen Conboy McCarthy was taken home by our eternal Father on the morning of Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, after a brief hospital stay and illness, at the age of 86.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emmett Grayson McCarthy.
She was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Greenpoint, N.Y. She was the fourth child of the late James and Catherine Conboy, and was preceded in death by her five brothers and sisters.
Cmdr. and Mrs. McCarthy began their lives together on Dec. 29, 1945, in Greenpoint. They relocated to Silver Spring, Md., in 1962 and retired to Ocean Pines in 1984.
She is survived by her seven children, Kathleen (Richard) Yost, Margaret McCarthy, Emmett McCarthy Jr., Christine (John) Beane, Eileen M. McCarthy, Virginia (Michael) Riley and Suzanne (Mark Wayne) Palmateer; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McCarthy will be waked at 6-8 p.m. Thursday at St. John Neumann R.C. Church located at 11211 Beauchamp Road, Berlin, Md. 21811. The funeral mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. also at St. John Neumann. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Parish Cemetery, 9700 Rosensteel Ave., Forest Glen, Md., on Monday at 1 p.m.
