MARION STATION—Eugene "Pete" Epps, son of the late Arthur Tony Epps and Thelma Hall Epps, was called home to be with the Lord suddenly on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at home at the age of 72.
Eugene was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1959. He was employed at Chesapeake Plywood, Lankford Sysco and MAC as Meals on Wheel Driver at time of demise.
He attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Snow Hill, and St. James AME Zion Church, Salisbury.
He leaves behind Harriet Hall Epps, wife of 32 years; sister, Altonia (John) Brown of Wilmington; five nieces, Thelma, Clara, Marshalynn, Sherry, Alma; one nephew, Robert; and a host of great-nieces and nephews; and friends.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Marie Bell, preceded him in death.
A viewing will be held today, July 5, from 6-8 p.m., with a service Saturday, July 6, at 11a.m. Both services will be held at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
All service are entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
