New Church, VA—Ida C. Holden, (Sis), 81, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Riverside Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, VA.

Born in Horntown, she was the daughter of the late Nur Harmon and Mary Edwards Harmon Poulson. Her late husband, Carroll Lee Holden died in 1987.

Upon her graduation from the former T.C. Walker High School she attended a business school in Philadelphia, PA.

She was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a choir member and former pianist. She also was a volunteer pianist at other area churches.

She was employed for several years at the former Golden Pride Poulty Plant in Stockton, MD and retired after ten years from the former Showell Farms in Showell, MD.

Her survivors include two grandchildren: Shawn Taylor and Kelly (Devale) Palmer, all of Salisbury; six great-grandchildren; one brother: Braddock( Mary) Harmon of Horntown, VA; brother-in-law Donnie (LaRue)Holden; son-in-law, Karine Jones; sister-in-law, Bobbie Holden; and several nieces and nephews.

A son and daughter: Daryl Holden and Sheila Taylor and one brother and four sisters: Thomas Harmon, Ellen McField, Elizabeth Johnson, Velma Marshall and Dolly Frazier preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Tabernacle Baptist Church 5224 Fleming Road in Horntown, VA where friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Funeral services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel of Salisbury, MD.
