John Willis Hearn

Bishopville—John Willis Hearn, age 92 of Bishopville died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at home. He was born in Bishopville and was the son of the late John and Della (Hudson) Hearn.

He had worked at Feldman Brothers for 20 years and was also a self-employed upholsterer. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church near Bishopville and the Selbyville Elks Lodge #2173. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member and past commander of the VFW Post 194 in Salisbury.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen L. Hearn of Bishopville, two sons, Jeffrey Hearn of Bishopville and Donald Hearn and his wife Lorna of The Villages, FL; two daughters, Kay Gross and her husband Roger of Eden and Marcia Dayton and her husband David of Hebron; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son John "Jack" Hearn and a sister, N. Kathryn MaGee.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville where friends may call one hour before the service. Rev. Dean Perdue will be officiating and burial will be in Bishopville Cemetery in Bishopville.
