Crisfield—Joyce Tyler Justice, 87, of Crisfield, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Crisfield on April 17, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd James and Thelma Virginia Byrd Tyler. Her husband, William Edgar Justice, Sr., died September 15, 2001.
She was retired from Rubberset Corporation in Crisfield where she worked for 20 years, and was a faithful member of Somerset Free Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Crisfield Country Club.
Joyce had a great love of horses, working in her garden, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a great cook and enjoyed having her family over every Sunday for dinner. She was a very giving person who always extended her hand to anyone who needed it.
She is survived by her children, Sheila F. Milliner and husband Timothy of Crisfield, Sherry L. Riggin of Crisfield, Shelly Wagner and husband William of Fenwick, DE, and William Edgar "Bill" Justice, Jr. of Crisfield; a sister, Ruth Tyler Tawes and husband Preston of Delmar, MD; nine grandchildren, Steven C. Jordan, Jr., Stuart D. Jordan, Amanda Beth Harrison, Matthew E. Riggin, Lauren Justice, Alyson Justice, Adrian Lonick, Stephen T. Wagner, and Kevin A. Wagner; her very special friends, Whitey Schmidt, and Sam and Patty Horner, all of Crisfield; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Thomas "Chuck" Justice in 1986; and a sister, Shelva Jean Evans.
Funeral services officiated by Pastor's Steve Willing, Jim Evans and Jimmy Cullen will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM. Interment will be held in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817.
