Lawrence Chelton Bivens, Jr.

Washington, D.C.—Lawrence Chelton Bivens, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at his home in Washington, D.C. Born in Salisbury on February 16, 1963, he was the only son of Jackolee Bivens and the late Lawrence Chelton Bivens, Sr.

Lawrence was a 1981 graduate of Wicomico High School. He attended Towson State University. For more than 25 years, he worked in the insurance industry. Most recently, he was employed as the Claims Manager for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's National Flood Insurance Program. He excelled in his profession and he received numerous accolades for his accomplishments.

Lawrence leaves cherished memories with his mother, Jackolee; his sisters, Joy, Dawn, Carol, and Faith; his nieces, Tori and Chyna; his brother-in-law, Harry; his aunts, Pearl and Peggy; his uncles, Danny, Lawrence, Jeffrey, and Aaron; many cousins; and a host of other relatives, friends, and colleagues.

Mr. Bivens will lie in repose on Friday, February 15, 2013, from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 10 to 11 AM at First Baptist Church located on 528 Booth Street and Delaware Avenue in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens on 27260 Ocean Gateway in Hebron. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N.
