Leonard "Log" Griffin, Sr.

Seaford, DE—Leonard "Log" James Griffin, Sr., 68, of here, departed this life on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Arrella Lee Hall-Griffin of Salisbury and the late James Albert Griffin.

Mr. Griffin was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury and Morning Star #10 Masonic Order F. & A. M. in Laurel, DE.

Prior to retiring, he served in the United States Army and was employed by the DuPont Company in Seaford, DE as a Panel Operator.

In addition to his mother, loving memories will be cherished by: his loving and devoted wife, Elder Barbara Jane Jackson-Griffin of Seaford, DE; two sons, Leonard James Griffin, Jr. of Salisbury and Sheldon Leonard (Angie) Griffin of Blades, DE; four daughters, Tamara (Andre) Toppings and Shamicka Griffin, both of Seaford, DE, and Paulette (Mark) Humphries and Pamala (Alfonzo) Pearson, both of Upper Marlboro; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Kennard Griffin of Seaford, DE; three sisters, Catherine (Joshua) King and Phyllis L. Johns, both of Salisbury, and Valerie (James) Thomas of Bear, DE; a very special brother, Gene Johnson of Bladensburg; one uncle, David Cannon of Salisbury; one aunt, Eleanor (Otis) Conway of Salisbury; two sisters-in-law, Bishop Evelyn Schonyers of Burlington, NJ and Janet Jackson of Delanco, NJ; one brother-in-law, David (Ethel) Jackson, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many lifelong friends.

Mr. Griffin will lie in repose on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church located on 521 Mack Avenue in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 1 PM. Pastor M. Luther Hill will officiate. Interment will be on Monday at 1 PM in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery located on 26669 Patriot's Way in Millsboro, DE 19966.
